Africa is a diverse region with 23 countries under Baker Hughes’ operations, with multiple languages and a wealth of cultural diversity where we employ more than 2,600 people.

In each of the countries where we operate, we are committed to develop local resources, including aggressively recruiting and developing local graduates.

As part of this effort, we’ve been building relationships with local universities to communicate opportunities and to assist in developing curricula related to the petroleum industry. For example, in 2009, Baker Hughes recruited 65 university graduates in Ghana, Equatorial Guinea, Chad, Congo, Gabon, and South Africa.
